Default De-Mod my car before selling it...what do you guys recommend?

I am going to be selling my car within in the next several weeks.
I am going back and forth regarding de-modding my car (sell the parts) or leaving it as is.

Default Well, just sold my car...>>>

De-modding is definitley the way to go if you can do it yourself (thereby not having to pay someone to do it) and/or you have the time. I chose to leave the upgrades on the car and use the upgrades as a "differentiator" for potential buyers - you won't get the money back on the mods but it probably will aid in selling the car faster and at a better price... I ended up getting a lot more than "book" but not enough to even approach an offset the price of the mods....

Good luck - seems to be a lot of TTs for sale out there currently.

Default Damn, he beat me to the air freshener...

But I would think that no matter what you aren't going to get the money back that you put into it.

Chances are though, that you will recoop more of that money spent if you revert it back to stock (or close to it) and sell the stuff here or on ebay.

Any chance you live near Chicago? I just bought my TT and am looking to pick up some mods. If you need stock parts to trade out maybe we could work something

Sell the wheels; maybe try to sell/swap the ECU.

Default A good argument can be made that advertising mods can actually lower the value of a car.

Personally, I don't think I would purchase a car which had been modded. Too much association with hard use and excessive punishment. Think Fast and Furious. Believe it or not I think most potential buyers are seeking a car that, at least in their mind, has been pampered.

I would take as many off the car as is easily accessible and leave the rest. Sell the ones you can remove either here, ebay or Vortex.

Good luck!

Agreed....I'm of the belief that most modded cars have likely been used and abused
