42DD install, and other Cork Soaking adventures.........
This basically turned into a Fairly big PITA, but thanks to Numerous Beers and the Able assistance from Jimmy at Dales Muffler shop, Mary in the Parts dept at my Audi dealer, and numerous beers, we accomplished the tasks at hand with minimal bloodletting..
The funniest thing occurred when we had the Downpipe in and went to re-attach Han's Miltek...Oooops! 3" too short and the test pipe adapter was the wrong size! 2.5 inch....We need to adapt up to 2.75. Se we trundle up to the Muffler shop with part in hand and proceed to tell Jimmy what we need. Jimmy proceeds to tell us: "Ain't no such thing as 2.75. We got 2.5 and we got 3"...No such thing as 2.75"....
Hmm...well, OK then! I think if we had said 2 3/4 he might have gotten it, but Oh well! He tells us he can expand a 2.5 but won't do it without the muffler on hand...Apparently Precision measuring is not his Forte. We trundle home, get the Muffler and return to Jimmy where, in One pass, he makes a perfect 2.75" Nice work Jimmy...This cost us $10 which included a trip back with the car for a Muff to adapter weld bead, lest Hans drop the whole thing on Rt 95 on the way home.. Jimmy's handiwork:

Other adventures included a rebuild of the PCV system after finding this under the manifold. And Miracle of Miracles, my dealer had the T piece and Valve on hand, as well as a new dipstick tube which we inadvertantly seperated from the car (in pieces)..:

Later after far too much wine and beer, steaks, and other foodstuffs, including lessons in Cork Soaking (Pictures of which will surface later), the boys left AM today for Charleston and another TT-East recon:

The shack is now back to normal, however TTuned and RemoTT plan a visit later today...so things may go downhill once again!
