does any one see 102-103 degree water temp after heavy boosting then idling
just making sure it's ok, only happens after driving hard then cutting off it's airflow. brand new 87 degree behr thermostat. wouldn't be sticking would it? i'd imagine the temps would be higher if it were. brand new water pump and new coolant.
fans do come on, but they are pretty quiet. wondering if there is a high speed that's not working.

don't the fans kick in at 104? IIRC that's fine..... I always felt mine was running hot
as well but after 2 timing belts on 2 different TTs, I think that's fine - especially off hot asphalt where the car doesn't seem to be able to cool as easily. Maybe I'm wrong and if so I'm sure one of the esteemed gurus will point it out.... When did you do a coolant flush last?

I'm pretty sure it's normal... I'm getting the exact same readings after I did my TB and thermostat (DG TB kit) change a few weeks back. After some "spirited" freeway driving, i always tend to run up to about 102 when i finally come to an idle. The fans would always kick in around 101 and everything i've read says it's normal. It also probably doesn't help that it's been like 105-110F for the past 3 weeks (i live in Vegas).
