Quattro 225 Uneven Ride Height

I am new to the forum but have been visiting and reading your posts for the past year or so. I purchased a salvaged 2001 TT with 26K miles just over a year ago and finally got it to the point where most of the bugs have been worked out. I must say that I have acquired a tremendous amount of knowledge from this forum and found most of the answers to my questions here, I even bought my front bumper from a member...thanks a lot guys and gals.

One thing that puzzles me is the fact that the rear passenger side of the car is higher than the driver side. I searched but was unable to get a definitive solution, even tried removing the ballast weight in the rear bumper. I have to also admit that I haven't had a four wheel alignment done as yet because I am planning on upgrading the suspension with R32 springs and Bilsteins (I just need 2 rear Bilstein shocks...anyone?). Would a bad rear-end alignment possibly cause one side to be higher? Thanks in advance for your expertise.

alignnment is unlikely

removal of the NVH weight fixes most cars
Other possibilities:
spring indexing
shims missmatched
chassis damage

how uneven is it? how are you taking your measurements? I've just noticed mine is about 1/3 of an

inch higher on my rear passenger side. I have the s-line suspension from Stratmosphere. I measured from the top of my wheel to the fender, same tire psi.

Had the same problem......It ended up being a bad trailing arm bushing.....

The trailing arm bushing on the driver's side rear was shot/ripped causing the passenger's side rear to look higher. The rip was very small but resulted in the driver's side rear sitting 1/4" lower.

But remember, even if all is fine, the TT will sit 1/4" lower on the driver's rear because of the ballast (My TT sat 1/2" lower in driver's rear with bad bushing and ballast in place....

Just a note...Measuring from the fender..>>

Is not necessarily the most accurate way to determine this. you should measure from a chassis hard point to the ground while parked on a level surface..
