Help needed: oil smell in cabin during idle
Slight oil smell coming from the vents when the car is stopped but engine running. When the car is moving, the smell goes away. No smoke anywhere to be seen. There was a small stain by the oil pan mating to the block on the pass. side rear, but I wiped that up and all the stuff around and the smell is still there. When the hood is open, the smell seems to be strongest right around the MAF. The car has a K&N drop-in filter on the stock airbox. I opened that up and found a bit of residue at the bottom of the box and wiped that up. The filter didn't seem overly oiled. The smell still seems to be there. Any other places to check? I can't quite see the rear of the valve cover to see if it's leaking/sweating, but because the smell seems to be very strong near the maf/airbox, I'm thinking it's something to do with the air intake/intercooling system.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
