Default Ok, I'm going to be a pest until I figure out the MK1 platform... BWW

Paid for the TT today, dealer let us have it for the weekend, and its really a top-level car to be a 2003(35K mi, 4 more mos of factory warranty). Some pics before clean-up...

If it had a blemish or any damage to speak of I certainly couldn't find it. Console has already been replaced as well. Stripped/claybar'ed/cleaned it today and hopefully will get it polished and a coat or two of wax on it tomorrow/Wed.

Initial questions:

- What is the preferred "sort-of quiet" exhaust for these? Saw the BlueFlame(?) in a thread as a semi quiet one. Can't run a loud one since the wife will likely use this car daily.

- Is the phone RJ45 wired the same as the B5 and C4 chassis? Assuming so... where is the mic in these? Headliner grate in front of the lights? Will be moving my BTooth kit over since I never use it.

- Anyone running a PhatBox? Have one in the S4, thought about iPod integration but iPods suck usage wise through the Audi HUs.

- Buying a Bentley license for the TT tonight. Hopefully it doesn't suck as bad as the B5 chassis CD.

- Need to replace some interior trim pieces... shifter ring, ****, door handles. Has anyone ordered other interior parts from VagParts/Martyn? Wondering how he compares on the US parts price-wise. I'll be getting the door handles from him... anything else Euro I should get? Will look through ETKA for stuff.

- What car/year is the honeycomb rear valence from? Want that and one of the spoilers with the rubber/black lip at some point.

I plan on leaving the bulk of the car stock for a while... may mod at some point... wheels likely first.

Let me know thoughts/recommendations as needed. Hope to eventually get to the comfort level I am with my S4...

Default i'll give you a good dollar for those wheels + tires a bit down the road

if you're gonna be looking to upgrade. those are my favorites.

take your time tho. maybe early to mid fall?

also blueflame is a most excellent choice, and at a great price! i just love love love mine!

Damn. You picked up that one in Audi of Charlotte, right? Not that I'm close, but I was hoping it would sit until I made it down there the end of the month. Congrats!

Default Keep the wheels...chip first...

Your biggest bang for the buck on the 225 is going to be the chip...if you're looking for more power, don't worry about the exhaust until you've chipped and made some intake modifications.

Once I'd done my intake, I kept my stock exhaust until a beautiful custom piece found its way to me.

Default Yes. Think it was there awhile.. I have a list of cars I've looked at around NC/SC if you want

to compare notes. There is a pretty clean ALMS car in Fayetteville NC still... price keeps dropping and they told me they'd consider discounting for the TBelt(car has 59K mi on it, I told them Audi was recommending a change at 70K now).

Default Colby, grab my email from this post and let me know if/when you want to discuss wheels...

not sure what I'll do for replacements... looking at some CHs. Have Volk LE37s on my S4 and they have been the best wheels. Not sure what Rays makes for the 5x100 pattern.

Thanks for the comments on the exhaust. Do you happen to have any pics on the exhaust? Also are you running the black valence insert? TIA.

Default I'm trying my best not to start the performance mods lol... ordered my S4 and

just couldn't leave it alone. 5 suspensions, Euro Nav+(way back before they were easy to do), lights, APR code, GIACcode, APR Stg3, 3 exhausts, tons of custom and RS4 part work etc... hoping not to start the cycle on this one =-)

Just want an exhaust for better sound. Would rather hear the exhaust vs the lifter ticks.

Default wow, looks like it's in great shape. to answer your questions ...

1. yes, blueflame is a great choice. love mine.
2. dunno.
3. phatbox is popular. there's no ideal mounting place on the coupe, but many (myself included) put it behind one of the front seats. unfortunately, the stock seats will run into it, though (recaros don't).
4. bentley cd's search leaves much to be desired. otherwise, i find it good.
5. for interior trim, try west broad audi. they have good "internet" prices (be sure to ask for that if you call).
6. honeycomb started with the 3.2L tt. same with the spoiler you mention.

Default Thank you Sir. Was hoping you'd still be around. I want to pick your brain on wheels at some point

not sure what or when I'll do something but always liked seeing what you were doing with yours. Probably won't go 19"s but...
