Default Tire fitment question.

I got a horrid alignment or something because my front (now rotated to back due to cords showing) tires are totally flat on the inside edge.

I priced out some Toyo Proxes St's and can get them mounted/balanced/everything for 600 even.

They are 255/45/18's

Will that fit on my car?

Stock height but I have 25mm spacers and 15mm spacers on the front.

They are 8.5 inches wide.

Stern ST-2's

I'm seriously clueless. My friend who is selling me the tires was trying to explain how they measure the tires, but he lost me at "this is what the measurements mean"

Help me out.

Default Wrong size...>

You want a 40 series tire, not a fat 255x45. I doubt they'd fit or work very well..

You can buy decent NEW tires that will fit for far less than that price..Your buddy is laying the hustle on you!

Get an alignment too..

Default I JUST REALIZED THIS...

Hahah, I darted back here to pretty much erase my post.

I looked at my tires. I have Eagle F1's and they are 225/40/18's

I found some Kumho AST's for 78 bucks a tire on tirerack. Should I go for it.

I want a wide *** tire... any suggestions or is that the size I should get on my 8.5 inch wheels

I'd get 235s for an 8.5" rim, wider isn't necessarily better

Default Same topic, different question: What's the smallest rim that can fit on our cars?

I'm tempted to get a set of 15s or 16s if they'll fit to mount R-compounds on for track days. Smaller tires are WAY easier for me to abuse since they are cheaper

There was a standard 16" wheel offered, I think that would be minimum to clear brakes

Default 16" but fitment is crucial

go 17's for the track - can run BBK. I got my Flik FTD's from Edge in 17x8 at 18lbs each for $89 a piece. Fit over Stasis Alcons without any spacers.

Default Jesus that's light! At $90 a corner that's not bad at all. I'm not going to get new wheels, though

if I'm going to run 17s because I have 17" Fat Fives now, and can't really afford it if I don't HAVE to buy another wheel. If I went 16s, I'd HAVE to buy another wheel, but it would be justified. Going from 17 to 17 doesn't warrant a new wheel...YET
