Advice on possible TT purchase
I've never had a car with this many miles and I'm a bit concerned about costs for 2 yr ownership. Are there any major costs over the next 45k I should keep in mind?
Do you consider a reasonably maintained bone-stock TT Quattro with 100k miles to be a solid daily driver for 2 years? (Daily mileage under 20 in city.)
How well does the TT quattro work in snow? I am hoping to drive this to Breckenridge once or twice a year as well. Any issues with the 1.8t at 10-11k elevations?
Also, opinions on how comfortable the TT is for all-day long-distance drives?
TIA for any advice.
The timing belt should be replaced at the 60K mark. So around 120K that SHOULD be replaced. Parts are around $280 for everything including coolant.
The O2s are close to going bad. I replaced mine at 90K
Check the brakes for wear and if it is a quattro, the haldex fluid and filter is changed every 20K Parts around $65.
To keep the engine in tip top shape, use synthetic oil and change it every 5K.
Parts on the cars are link the A4 that you had. They wear out over time.

They're great in the snow and will be a comfortable distance driver provided you renew the suspension..

Here's a good buyers guide....

I gathered the Haldex setup was good in snow, just checking since the a4 awd setup is different from what I understand.
Thanks!
The brakes and Haldex fluid should have been well kept as the owner says he has records of all Audi service points done at dealer. He says he runs synthetic and I hope to get a receipt or invoice showing the last change.
Thank you. I'll keep searching to learn more and will continue to plan on checking the car this weekend.

If you like the ride, just replace the shocks - Bilstein HDs are a good match with the stock springs as well as the new Koni FSD.
If you replace the springs too, you will need to add a rear camber kit to get the camber back into spec. there are two wasy - adjustable tie arms or K-Mac bushings that replace the inner bushings on you existing arms.
You also need to replace the upper stru bushing and bearing. They tend to go out around 60K. ECS has them as a kit for around $50 I believe.
