HOLY COW....Just sat in new S5 This morning.....................
On my daily trip back from HD this morning and I notice an Audi coming at me close to my house. At first I thought R8 due to lights, sloping hood, etc., but as I passed the Audi, I noticed it was a coupe and not the R8. I made a quick uturn and chased the Audi down. He pulls into a gas station and I am out of my car and over to his before he is out.
As it turns out, it was Jamie Vondruska from Vortex/Fortitude, who had been testing and comparing the new S5 to a new G7 and 330. They had tracked it at Gingerman and done 1/4 miles with it.
The S5 was absolutley beautiful. It was a grey color than I am not sure exactly which greay it was. It had grey seats with red inserts. The seats felt so good and supportive. This one had a 6 speed and the big V8. It sounded wonderful. I was absolutely amazed at how good the driving position felt. I could see out very well without feeling too low in the car.
Mr. Schwing, you should have waited on this. Yes, that Corvette has more power and handling than this (probably), but this is one very sweet Audi.
And of all days I don't have my camera, or camera phone.
Jamie said this was a Euro version and there were only 3 of these in the US right now.
What a gorgeous car.
By the way, the back seat had marginally more room than the TT's do.
