Timing belt service scheduled for next week, '01 225 with 20K miles

Yes, low on miles but long on years. Car went into service June of 2000, but only 20K miles on the odo to date. But it's cheap insurance and I'll be able to drive it hard from now on with one fewer worry. Have the full Dieselgeek kit but will substitute in a new OEM thermostat in place of the Behr.

I'll have the parts saved and examine them for any issues after install.

Might suggest an OEM thermostat housing

Mine supplied with DG kit cracked and is being replaced today with OEM.

About to do second timing belt, 168K miles, quoted $3000 for..

timing belt and water pump by audi Dealer in NYC...I laughed and hung up, getting it done in Westchester for $1500.
