EPC light goes on

EPC light goes on
On a 2000 TT Quattro with 1.8T with the 180hp, changed turbo to a K04 and when the turbo pressure drops from 23 lbs to minus, the EPC light sometimes goes on and car goes in limp mode.After installing the K04,the turbo boost was over 30 lbs,and I ajusted it down to 23 but it did not help.Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Do you have chip or a diode mod? The 180 ECU will go into limp at boost levels like that.
No,everything original except had to change turbo but EPC sometimes comes on before it reaches 15 lbs.

YOu need the correct programming to run that combination. Stock 180 programming will go limp at that number. YOu need fuel and timing too so don't cover it up with a diode mod..

Yes I did, I found it hard as you have to work with a mirror most of the time but it was a direct bolt on.If I had to do over again I would consider removing motor.
