Default cluster failure rate for '03

I saw an online poll that had an instrument cluster failure rate of about 85% based on respondents. It did not differentiate between model years. Are the '03 model year TT's doing any better with the failure rate than the 01/02's or are they just needing another year or two to catch up?

That's too bad. Sounds like I may be better off buying a 2002 and saving the extra money I'd be spending on a 2003 for the cluster replacement since I'd probably need to replace it with either vehicle.

Default My '01 had 5. But truthfully, only 4 were bad... the tech put in the wrong mileage on one when

installing it, and that can't be reversed. So it had to be returned to Audi. Of course all 4 went in the first 11,000 miles. I think Audi just put the 4 billion bad clusters they bought into a huge stack and they just continue to send them out. You know... kinda like buying one of those "rattle can rebuild" alternators from Shucks Auto Parts. They just keep handing them to you until you eventually get one that works.

and the TT is no exception....go with the 03 if it is what you want....do not plan on going older to save a few $$$$ overall...

Default Replaced mine...03 TT

The screen started to fade in one of the corners when the car was on for a while. Took it to the dealer because I didn't want to chance it. They replaced it under warranty. There wasn't any other issues besides that.

Default General Audi problem... B5, C4, D2, MK1 ...etc, all the same.

My TT cluster was replaced in 2005 under warranty, made sure of this before I purchased the car.

My B5A4 had a cluster replaced(98.5 model) and I've had one on the B5S4 replaced at the end of warranty. Its inevitable...
