Normal Water Temp Gauge

I noticed today the water temp gauge in my 03 TTQR reads at 1/2 mark pretty much all the time except when I am in stop-and-go traffic where it moves to roughly 1 bar higher and then moves between the 1/2 mark and 1/2+1 bar.

Is this normal?

I am a newbie TT owner (03 TTQR with 19K miles purchased less than a month ago).

So far having great fun with this car just commuting. My 04 M3 6MT w/30K miles is getting lonely in the garage ;-)

Water Pump, gauge cluster, or fan control module/fan issue.

The fan is working, I can hear it.

How do you check the 2nd fan turn on?
By the way, this was with the A/C set on ECO.

Will idling the car until both fans turn on, do it?

Turn AC on: both fans run. W/O AC, all funs should be run if ...

T > 105*C.

Use the HVAC console to access block 49 and read bulk coolant temperature.
