obviously he's trying to convince the danish...
automotive authority that he's bought it as a "truck"
he got the car half price after tax breaks...so in a few months, when everyone loses track of the guy, he'll just pop the trunk lid back on and use it like a Hyundai again

denmark=CRAZY taxes and fees
my company is from denmark, and my boss moved here about 3 years ago and we talk about DK vs US all the time. he hated it there and loves it here.
so we were talking about cars and he says that apparently if you try to get any type of larger or higher-HP car out there, you pay insane taxes and fees.
for a comparison, he priced out my old VW GTI that i traded in last year for about 3000, and over there he said that same car would go for over 50,000!
the only way around this is to get some sort of commercial "delivery" wagon or truck and at that point it becomes a little more reasonable. true, they have free healthcare benefits and a lot of great social programs, but you pay out the *** in a lot of other ways!!
even just buying regular goods you are subject to a VAT tax of 17%. the main branch of my company is in denmark, and its cheaper to buy our products here and ship them back over than it is to go down the street and buy it there.
