Boost problem folowup (wastegate issues maybe??)
and so the other day i was driving and the boost creeped back up to about 1.35 bar but is still not peaking at the usual 1.65etc
and now i get a loud 'woooohhhhhhhhh' noise under WOT and only when is boosting over 1.30bar....now the turbo is only 10k miles old and is NOT a turbo screeching noise of whatnot...so i know is NOT the turbo dying....the noise sounds like a leak or a valve not closing correctly...
all hoses are check and just actually replaced the two IC feeder and IC to intake hoses with SAMCOs
but problem is still there...no other leak is found at this time......and i have a STRONG feeling that its the wastegate (everything else is checked, MAF is new, coolant sensor is new etc.)
now my question how could i tell if its the wastegate (or wastegate acuator) acting up ??
TIA
i actualli have the BM and all the mods off (BAMM, BM and N75 race is off) all i have is the REVO turn on and once it hit 1.30bar i'll here the loud trumpet noise
PS another thing i have notice is that when the boost is at 0.00bar (partial throttle) i hear this low light humming noise...which i think is also related to it
The cable connected to the N75 could be failing...
Vacuum line to the DV could be split...
Put a hand pump on the vac line to the Wastegate actuator to see if the linkage moves once vac is applied..if it moves and holds you wastegate actuator is probably ok...after all that thing is pretty well protected from the elements.
