TT power steering
I am considering trading my A6Q C5 for a TT (MK1) (yeah, it's middle age crisis time!). I drove one yesterday and I really liked the way it handles, and yet is pretty smooth on the highway. A couple of questions for you experts before I "commit":
- The power steering seemed pretty hard compared to my A6. I know I know, it's a sports car, but it was a bit surprising. Is the steering way harder than the A6? I read the tt has the same speed-sensitive servo assist system than my A6 so I didn't expect them to be so different.
- Although the car is very quiet, I noticed a very mild vibration-buzzing even at low speed. It seemed to me that it came from the tranny, but it wasn't very loud. Is this normal?
- Finally, do you know if the warranty is void if you install a hitch to carry bikes and skis? The car has 38K miles, and an extended warranty of 40K.
Thanks a lot guys, and I will definitively post pics of the new baby if/when I get it!

Give the quattro a real spin...test drive it again and if you feel the steering wheel bind, it may be faulty haldex. just to be sure...ask and see if it has service records for the haldex and such. At 38k it has only had one haldex service and due at 40k...see if they'll do the haldex before they deliver it to you.
Any comments on the noise? And the trailer hitch?
Thanks again guys!

Thanks for the tip though!

Also, I have heard that vibration can be transmitted into the cabin via the gear linkage after some folks have opted for the dogbone poly bushing...
I have no comment on the hitch....Good luck
Thanks guys, I will let you know what I get!

PS: If anybody else can give me some hints about the hitch it would be great.
