This guy is offering $350 for about 5 yrs old with curb rash... was thinking of changing my fat 5's 17" for these...but then the 6 spoke is heavier and $350 is not a good price....any input?

Thanks,

Default why would you get rid of the fat 5s for these?

fat 5s are lighter and much better looking, IMO.

personally, i like the six-spoke design more (but the other attributes of the 5-spokes are better)

Default Don't get them

Personally, I hate the fat 5s but I hate the old 6s too. A big problem with the older OEM 6s like those you are considering is that they have a convex spoke dsign that is VERY prone to curb rash. There are many nice aftermarket rims avaiable for about $500/set.

Are they the "nicest" in the world? Obviously not. Do they look really good? I think so. There are great values out there on wheels that look really good. Keep looking.

Hey, nice car!

As you can see from the sig though, I replaced them but not because of the way they look. One was messed up when I avoided an accident thus making them "beater" rims. It was a great excuse to upgrade. They are extremely heavy and not worth upgrading to them IMO. I'm sure you can pick up something similar that weigh a lot less if you like them that much.

Default i agree on the minor changes to the finish of the wheels

however, i think 17" is perfect...if only they were 8" wide

17x8" with a brushed/gunmetal look would be great (makes me want to buy a set of A6 "fat fives" and have them redrilled to 5x100)
