When they come, they come in spades ... expert TTers needed >>>
Now, as of yesterday we have a new player- a metal grinding noise on acceleration that seems to reduce in volume as speeds increase and currently is inaudible at hwy speeds. It seems to come from the front right ... I have checked the brakes, pads, wheel speed sensor magnet had some ferrous dust on it so cleaned it with a pressured air can.
I am thinking wheel bearings or front outer CV joint. I plan to order a new front wheel bearing and a wheel speed sensor. What do you all think?
Thanks as usual.

The noise seems like a deep grinding one - something like when ABS kicks in but w/o the pedal pulsation and the volume is lower.
The noise frequency picks up with speed but the volume goes down; inaudible on the hwy.
Checked pads, rotors and shield.
Even run the car on a lift. Actually, when on a lift the noise does not seem to be there. Maybe something to do with the wheels unloaded ...

I have eliminated the wheel bearings as the vibration is not all the time.
It happens during moderate to hard acceleration and is most apparent in 1st and somewhat in 2nd gear around the 2000-3000 rpm range.
Ideas?
Your description of the vibration does not eliminate the wheel bearings. If it's rotational that's where to start then work in to the tranny.
Does the sound change if you accelerate while turning? Louder going right or left?
