A no-front-plate ticket has increased to $90 with strict enforcement. I wanted a solution that was strong, would hold up to speed, easy to install & remove, and invisible when off.

I fabricated a mounting breacket that fits behind the lower center grill. The two holes are threaded for bolts or studs.

In this picture I have threaded studs installed. They can be covered with black rubber caps when not in use -

Made up a simple license plate bracket from aluminum stock. Angles chosen so Plate will fit contour of the front bumper.

Plate bracket mounted using bolts and 20mm spacers. Plate can be adjusted up or down.

Two mounting points were used for the bracket inside the bumper -

one of the better solutions out there. reminds me of the one that a company makes for mini coopers...asymmetrical and makes use of the built-in tow hook area on the minis.

 

Great idea! I can see it already.... speed and/or push-button activated. Hmmmmm.
