Fuel rail cleaning
Is this something that is recommended for our TT's or is this likely to damage something within the systme?
Take off the Vacuum hose from the Fuel Pressure regulator. Pour about 1/2 - 2/3 of the can of Seafoam into a shallow container. Start your car and let it idle. Carefully take the Vacuum hose and slowly let it suck in the Seafoam solution. Do this slowly. A little at a time so the car wont stall. You will notice large amounts of white smoke pouring out of the tailpipes which is quite normal. After it sucked in all the fluid shut off the engine and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. Reconnect your FPR hose and start your car. Take it for a little drive for about 10-15 minutes. It will contiune to smoke for a little while. This treatment will effectively clean your Intake, valves and cylinders. Pour the rest into your Gas tank to clean the injectors.
I just done a Seafoam treatment today and the car runs great and the idle seems to be smoother. Prior to an oil change you can also pour up to half a bottle into the crankcase to clean the engine and disolve sludge. I wouldn't drive more than maybe 100 miles before changing your oil since Seafoam will thin out your oil a bit. Seafoam really is great stuff and will clean your engine better than most of the other so called miracle fluids on the market.
