front sway bar with downpipe install??

Default front sway bar with downpipe install??

I'm getting my 42 DP installed on tuesday of next week and I've been having a clunk in the front end whenever I start or stop moving in traffic and what not. That being said I've changed the bushings in the control arms (wish I had put defcons in at the same time) and the dogbone mount trying to get rid of the clunk. A while ago I had my car at the dealer and they mentioned that the front sway bar needed to be replaced, which I ignored as they wanted to charge me 500 for the job. Am I correct to think that the subframe has to be dropped to put in the DP? If so, is it a good idea to buy a front sway bar now to save on labor?

I was going to try to do all the work myself but after hearing what a PITA the downpipe is, I figured I'd pay someone to suffer with it for a couple hours

Might as well do it at the same time....(yes on dropping the subframe)

i was told labor would be outrageous for both..

Default You can avoid the alignment if...>>>

You take a Camber index reading on both sides before dropping the subframe. When re-bolting, nudge it back to the same readings and you'll retain your previous alignment settings.. I doubt many shops do this though..

Default No need to replace sway bar. Just get poly bushings and break off OEM plastic sleeve.

Not very difficult to do yourself. Replace old rubber bushings with 20mm polyurethane.<ul><li><a href="http://www.ttstuff.com/performance_suspension_bushings.php">number 3 in theTTStuff figure</a></li></ul>
