Old member....possible new purchase

Hey all, I had a 98 A4 back in 2004. I have been out of Audis for awhile however I am looking for a new daily driver and the TT seems to fit the bill. I recently test drove an 04 Quattro 6spd with the 225hp motor and was really impressed with the power, handling and overall feel of the car. Compared with my very stiffly sprung E30 the TT was a dream.

I just have a few questions, where there any major upgrades between 01-06 strictly speaking about the 225hp 6spd Quattro TT?

Any major things to check for other than recent timing belt, water pump etc replacement...

Why an '03 or newer - specifics please as I am looking to buy a '01 or so in the next 6 months. Any real trouble areas to watch out for on any of them? What is a BEA engine?
