Drove 3 miles on a blinking CEL...Ease my mind please!!>>
Had my TT at an indy shop to get a couple suspension/steering parts fixed up. He called to tell me that he thinks I have a bad coil pack as the car was running a little funny. The drive home it started to blink unless I was coasting (soooo I coasted a lot)...
At any rate, it didn't seem horrible. Just real under powered and stumbling. He said the #3 pack was bad - but I'm replacing them all along with plugs...
Someone tell me that everything will be ok
We got 8" of snow and it was freezing out.

99% on the coil pack
I have gone through 11 of them in 6 months.... It was oil getting on them from the gasket being bad...
If your car was hesitating a lot, and just sounded REAL rough..... thats what it is!
Either VAG IT, or get a new coil and replace one by one till you find it

Did you have the rotten egg smell? When mine went bad I had the flashing CEL and....
a distinct rotten egg smell. I guess from pushing unfired fuel to the cat. I think if you replace the plugs you should be fine, unless the cat is damaged.

I think it's worse in Florida for some reason! The audi dealer told me
some TT guys like me are unlucky and replace once every 3/4 months. Others, they dont as often. Usually he said guys that come here from up north haven't replaced coils in 2/3 years. They are here for a month and wah lah 2/3 of them go bad... sucks!
