Extended Warranty Group Purchase - See Inside for More Info
First, I am not some jerk that only sells warranties (well, I might be a jerk, but it's not ONLY for that reason). I have over 1K posts, and hang in the D2 forum where the guys there will vouch for me (I have an '01 S8, had an '04 Allroad, a B5 S4, and lots of C4-chassis S4/S6's).
I have to pay to post about this here. I just hope that enough people go in so I don't lose money! As long as I don't lose anything, and can help out some fellow AW'ers, I'm happy. If I make a little bit, that's OK too. But it'll be a long time before I can quit my day job unfortunately.
I always get extendeds for my cars, so hooked up with a couple of companies, after a lot of research to make sure they were not clowns or fly-by-night types, that will allow me to be an agent and arrange GPs on the warranties. It helps me and the people that go in to get better prices.
I just did one for BenzWorld members, and also some Allroad and D2 members. About 30 people have gone in so far, with a few already having filed ealry claims and been paid (including a $2700 TC on an Allroad).
Policies range from 1 year of named component coverage to 7 years of exclusionary coverage which can include nav and other funky stuff as well.
I make 9%, which covers costs of FedExing, calls, emails, etc and then lets me take my wife out to a decent dinner (better than McD's, worse than Smith & Wollensky) when all is said and done. GP discount ranges from $75 for 5 people to $300 for 25 people. We hit $250 last time. Plus the prices are good to begin with because I am not marking them up 65% like most places! I am posting to other forums to help reach the biggest discount as well.
These warranty plans are better than Audi's CPO...I know from both research and personal experience. And they compare favorably to just about any other plans out there. This is a no B.S. deal; I am personally involved, I answer all questions quickly, send out contract scans via email as requested, etc. No slimy salesperson pressuring you like when you call Continental Warranty (ask me how I know)! And if you find something better, I am happy to tell you that and also to give you an opinion on the goods and bads of whatever contract you're considering.
If any interest, just shoot me an email to brucem105_AT_comcast.net, let me know year, engine, AWD or FWD, and include current mileage, and please put TT MK1 Warranty GP in the subject.
Sorry I can't be more specific on pricing, but it depends on so many factors it's impossible to say without the details requested above.
Thanks for reading, and here's hoping you do not need a warranty to begin with. But let's face it, we are Audi owners.

2. Are the warranties transferrable with the sale of the vehicle?
3. Do you have to used preferred/authorized repair facilities? If so, are the networks extensive?
4. Deductibles? Vary by policy I assume?
Bruce>> Only one, and that was when the mechanic called the warranty company on a chipped S4 and said something like "Yeah, we have a guy here with your warranty and a turbo failure. I guess the modifed ECU he used to run 20psi of boost killed the turbo. Can you give me a claim number?" So you can probably imagine how that claim went.
In general, though, you have to work with a smart mechanic that knows what to say or not say, be willing to go back to stock on a big claim if an inspector is coming out to look on behalf of the warranty company, or just forget the warranty if you car has eight miles of polished intake runners, custom FMIC, center-hub wheels with on-board air jacks, etc! Most people's mods fall into the "hard to detect" area, and others are willing to remove an exhaust or something if they have an engine failure just to avoid any potential problem. But the inspectors are not car guys like us, so the mods need to be pretty flagrant to get noticed. I have seen many K04'd cars with Samco hoses submit engine claims and get paid.
2. Are the warranties transferrable with the sale of the vehicle?
Bruce>> Yes, for $50, at any time and even AFTER big claims have been paid. This is a key feature, and why most people get the longest term they can afford, even if they do not plan to keep the car that long. For example, five years is only $275 mor ethan 4 years in some plans, but even if you sell the car in 4 years, you can usually sell the one year of the remaining plan for $500-$1000, and make some money back.
3. Do you have to used preferred/authorized repair facilities? If so, are the networks extensive?
Bruce>> No, you can go anywhere you like, as long as it's an ASE certified or equivalent legitimate repair shop. You can't have your buddy how has tools and a garage do the work, it hs to be some sort of business that does repairs in their line of work. What's also nice is that they will allow for dealer labor and part prices, and not force you, by only allowing for low labor rates or cheap 3rd-party parts, to go to an independent shop (although those of us that have good indy go there anyway!).
4. Deductibles? Vary by policy I assume?
Bruce>> Yes, depending on policy, $200, $100, $50, or zero. And you can increase or descrease them, increasing saves money, decreasing costs money. These are all per visit, the best kind, not per item or per category. Meaning, if you go in with four covered repairs, you only pay a single deductible.
Hope that helps.
Bruce
