Temp Sensor...Thermostat...Cluster...Other?
I drove 30 minutes monitoring blocks 49 and 51 from the HVAC unit. Block 49 never got above 82 but block 51 remained constant at 90. Whenever the gauge dropped one click left, block 49 measured a few deg under 80. Ambient temp was 31 deg F.
At idle, the rpm needle sometimes bounces. And I've had some jerkiness under hard acceleration that I've been think was a MAF going bad. But research points towards temp sensor for this? But the fluctuating temp points towards thermostat stuck open? But the difference in blocks 49 and 51 may indicate bad cluster?
Car is chipped...APR 93...and I have 57k miles. Still under CPO warranty for a few more months. My $50 deductible would be more than the thermostat if I try to do myself, so I'll probably have the dealer perform the work. But I always like to go in with a strategy since they usually don't have one.
What do you think?
Thanks in advance Steve.
