The cost for keeping this car maintained has out weighed my pocket as well as benefits. Being a resident and on resident salary I find it very difficult to keep this car up. I love this car so much and really don't want to give her up but I think it is the right time to do so. Seems like everytime I get a problem fixed there seems to be one just around the corner. I think I will try to sell her or trade her in. Was wondering what is the current resale or trade in value is for a 2001 TTQR ~83,000 miles. What really sucks is she is paid off. I really don't want another car note but the troubles out weighs the benefits at this time. Sorry for my pathetic rambling just need to vent.

Default Well, you just said the problems outweigh the benefits four times in that short post...

sounds like you're either fed up or trying to convince yourself!!! :P Just keep it. Unless you blow a turbo or engine, it's still cheper than a car payment. Even a Honda Civic would cost more over the course of the loan!!!

Do you recommend me parting out or just leave everything? I really don't have time to part.

Default You'll always do better parting out...>>

The value of the car is the value of the car with or without mods. I ended up netting $27K out of mine last spring ('01 with 42K). $10K of that was parts.. There's a little Modshack DNA in a lot of cars out there now...:-)

You really won't be giving away that much though...I see maybe $1500 od easily saleable parts there...

Good luck. I guess a MS stage 3 is out of the question??....lol..

Default Thanks for the calculation Steve. I was trying to figure that out myself...

Think I'm gonna go with Toyota, Honda, or Lexus this time around.

Default I'm sorry to hear that, Tu. I do feel your pain, though.

I shudder to think of the money I spent on mine last year. Even as I type this post, my car sits in the garage at Autometrics waiting its turn to go under the wrench. It's a miniature money pit, but I still love it bigtime. Good luck with whatever you do.

It's ok and thank you. Just a reminder that a little bit of lowcountry lives in her.
