Default Can an American small block V-8 fit in the TT...
Without too much hacking of fenderwells and whatnot?

It's kind of my dream project to buy a second TT and shimmy a V-8 in it. Maybe a bored out ford 5.0 with a custom flowmaster exhaust...Then my TT will be German-American just like me =) Plus it will have great low end torque to get the all-wheel drive pig up and moving.

Well, is this possible or will it always be just a dream?

Default Anything is possible..>>
with a big enough shoehorn and Fabrication budget. The DTM cars were front engined V8's I believe....

Yep, with totally custom tube frames too More closely related to NASCAR than OURCAR

Default The 1.8 it tight, the 3.2 ridiculous, I can't even begin to imagine a 5.0 in there!
The VR engines by VW were specifically designed to fit in to smaller packages. I have to say NO WAY to a Ford V8...
