Default Ugh - the deed is done - Dahlback installed >

Finally got the connector I'd asked about on Friday to come loose, but predictably, it broke... and sadly, it'll need to be lengthened to give me a comfort level, now that the lock clip is broken - the DB location is just a bit further away.

Fuel rail and injectors out of the way; interestingly, BOTH nuts securing the manifold were loose, and ALL BUT TWO of the cap screws holding it on were barely finger tight - arrrgh.

Yes, these ports could clearly use port-matching.

Almost done - everything's installed and the engine fired up. Worth noting, reinstalling the injectors was a real pain - the fuel rail DID NOT re-seat properly - flush and tight - on the casting bungs designed for it; I'll need to go back in and install some spacers.

I decided to go back in and clean up the hoses - here's a "before" pic for reference:

Moved the fuel pressure gauge and replaced a bunch of hoses with silicone; anyway, done for the time being - still need to go in and install my SFS DV Relo hose in lieu of the Forge kit on there now.

The APR needs a head along with a big turbo - as you know - and realistically I won't be doing that for at least another year at the earliest, so I may go on and try harder to sell it.

Default did you use the VW injector seats on your DB intake? how's the fitment? were they the problem that

make your fuel rail sits unevenly?

Default No - the DB does not use all that crap >

the injectors just drop into a machined seat (you might be able to get an idea looking at my pic poster - there's a few raw shots of the DB there; the problem had more to do with the amount of free play on the fuel rail fittings and the location of the cast taps that the fuel rail screws down to in relation to the length of the injectors.
