Gas door frozen shut
Well, I searched for an answer, but all I found was a gas door frozen open. Went to get gas this morning and couldn't get the door open. It's 2 degrees.
For cars that should be great in the winter, Audis sure have a hard time with the cold. My husband's allroad doors won't close and the windows won't open, and now my gas door is frozen. He uses a plumber's torch on the allroad's door latch each morning to get it to work, but I'm thinking that's probably a bad idea around the gas tank.
Any suggestions? My DTE says 5 miles.

Don't pour hot water on it...
I'm here in Cleveland and I know how cold it is out today...
Pouring hot water on anything when it's this cold is just as bad as pouring hot water on cold glass. You're liable to ruin something....aka your paint.
Park it in the sun and let it thaw on its own.

Coolant light flashed today, I think the cold was playing tricks on the car >>
Turned the car off, checked everything... looked fine, just REALLY cold! Started car back up, no more flashing light.. hmmm. Temp gauge said 20!
I think the car is just mad because its normal morning commute temp used to be 70+
At least I have the garage to put it in!! But not until I raise it up an inch or two (can't make the dip!)

I just have some one else push the gas cap button in the car....
and then use a quater(penny works too but quater always worked best for me) and pry up where the gas cap is held down by the latch. I live in MN and it seems everytime I go to fill my car up the gas cap is frozen.
