Default Anyone have a picture of the MAF "fins"?

Is it a removable piece or does it need to be ground/cut out like older Audi MAFs?

Helping a friend "DocEllisExperience" install TTDA/get started modding. Thanks.

Default How many you need?...>>

With a TTDA/VTDA you can knock all of them out with no issues. The Filter flows smoothly enough that the straighteners are not needed as they are with the turbulent stock box...

Slide a 6" ratchet extension down the side of the MAF tube until it hits the screen/Vane. Give the end a quick sharp rap with a hammer and both parts will pop out (almost) undisturbed...

Default Hey Steve can you tell me why those are on the MAF?

I have never really gotten why those are there. Also what happens when you take them off (airflow, Etc.)? Thanks Steve or anyone else that chimes in. Thanks.

Default The MAF needs a clean flow of air to read correctly...>>

The design of the stock arbox is really not condusive to this (the airflow changes direction 90 degrees twice). Using a cone filter or VTDA/TTDA the airflow is much smoother, eliminating the need..
