TT Convertable roof will not go up but the elec motor runs...

Anyone know what it cost to have the conv. roof fixed, or if I can make an attempt to do it myself?

You probably have a hydraulic leak/failure. Cost varies with dealer/provider. Get an estimate from

more than one place, if possible.

It's a 5 wrench DIY, only for the knowledgeable or talented.

Weight savings opp, make it manual, do away with the wind screen

Then weight it all and let me know before I do it...

take top completely off, huge savings. you don't need to drive the car in the rain anyway.

Honestly I really want to know how much I would save by

going manual, and removing the glass windscreen and replacing it with a perm lexan.

I've had the "works" replaced twice under warranty for failure of the windscreen to go up and down, I figured the next time I'll rip the guts out of it and weight it all.

Just wishing someone would beat me to it.
