shifter position/adjustment
I was detailing my interior a while ago and removed my shift boot to clean it...and had a peek at the shifter's guts.
It made me wonder if I can adjust its position. When I first got the car, the shifter sat straight upwards. Shortly after, the clutch fried (thanks to the dealer) and I got a new one on them. When I got my car back the shifter was tilted towards the rear a lot more. It confused me a bit at first but I got used to it and never paid it any mind. However now I'm curious.
So anyone know how to adjust it? Didn't seem obvious from looking at it. Do yours go straight up or tilt backwards? I'm curious how it would feel positioned as it was originally.

Sounds like the shift linkage should be adjusted.
Likely that didn't happen after your new clutch was installed.

I had that happen to me when I put in my short shifters.......
Just needs adjustment. For me, I had to rotate the whole mechanism on its central spline fitted bolt a couple of notches. I thought that it would only go on in one position, since it has a small key but that's not the case. You can fit it on in any rotation. They just put it in on the wrong notch.
