Ignition/Coilpack Harness Capacitor?

Ignition/Coilpack Harness Capacitor?
I am in the process of changing my spark plugs. When removing the vacuum reservoir, I noticed a capacitor bolted to the bracket that the reservoir connects to. It appears the lead coming from the coilpack harness to the capacitor is broken and has possibly been broken for quite some time. Does anyone know what purpose this serves and what I should do with the broken lead? Should I just put a terminal on it and connect it to ground? Or should I put some shrink-wrap on it and leave it disconnected? Or is there something else I should do? The break is flush with the capacitor, so I cannot connect it back to the capacitor.
