Default just got back from my road trip to my lake house... had some minor issuies >

i had thought i tuned my TT correctly with the boost machine.. but appearantly not

i tested it in 3rd and 4th gear, from 3-4k rpm

i got a steady pull of 17/18lbs of boost... but during the road trip, when i tried holding it and accelerating upward. around 4500 rpm it just jerks, and drops to 10lbs of boost


what is this due to, and how can i fix it?

my boost machine >> pressure relief valve (left) is turned 1 and 3/4 and my regulator (right) is turned 5 and 3/4 turns

Default 2 things......>

!) Maf may be marginal

2) boost too high

Stock chip (as discussed before) can't take morethan a few PSI increase...A week MAF will exhibit those characteristics (boost pullback) becaue it's output has degraded over time..

so suggesting i reduce boost, and get a new MAF sensor?

Default im guessing the original. i bought the car used 6 months ago.

its a 2002 225Q

Default Yup......You're probably due then..>>

They can last anywhere from 20K to 80K but gradually decay over time as the measuring surface degrades...Time for a new one!

Especially with the ****, it needs t be operating at 100%

Default i'm chipped and see that kinda PSI.. lower boost, you've probably toasted your MAF...

time to upgrade
