Default Timing pull!

I have a 225 and recently received a vag-com. I was playing around with my new toy and I realized I was getting up to 8 degrees of timing pull in the upper rev range. That seems like unusually aggressive for stock programming to me. Anyone have any idea whats up?

No codes, running well, logged done on a cool morning shortly after startup so iat's should have been low, 91 octane cali gas....

Default Depends on a lot of thngs...>>

MAF health, Gas quality, Boost levels, Temp sensors, IAT's

Here one of my charts..(after Manifold insulators dropped IAT's)

Default So are you saying 8 degrees is ok? or that I should look into each of those....

The MAF was within spec when I checked, 91 octane used, stock boost, no heat soak or high outside temperature

Default It is what it is...>>>

If all sensors are operating correctly and at 100% the ECU makes the determination as to the amount of advance the engine can utilize....

Log 3 Blocks (at once) 002, 118 and 204

2K then WOT to redline in 3rd gear. Email me the log and I'll take a look for any potential problems....

Default Ok thanks...

I was a little worried because I was reading about advancing timing and the write-up said when pull got to 6 degrees it was time to stop and I was above that stock.

Default sounds familiar

When my car was stock (225) I noted similar timing pull on a warm engine, 91 oct, 60-70 degF ambient, 30-35 degC IAT, WOT.

For higher ambients timing pull started at lower rpms.
