It seems like everyone else went to have theirs installed at a shop... but I refuse to do that!

Default removal of the old is a bear...

but after that it's like clock work.
Have a bunch of weird extensions and wobbles etc, and it will go well for you. spray paint your subframe to get it back in the same spot, etc. Search on this site and the tex and you'll find quite a few write ups.
I used the original writeup.

Default You'll be weary...>>

If you don't want to jump through the hoops necessary to save the stock DP (ie dropping the subframe) be prepared to cut it out with a sawzall and a good Metal cutting blade..

Default I've got my torches, whiz wheel, and dremel tools all ready...

I'm assuming it's just a matter of having the patience to cut each peice by peice!

Default I helped MOBlueTT do his a little over a year ago.....

It is not that you need a lot of skill to do this install, it is just that parts of it are a real pain in the neck. Not a lot of clearance where you will be working, so, lots of extensions and universal-joint sockets will come in handy.

Removal of the old downpipe is a real trick as well. If I recall correctly, this required the un-bolting of the steering rack and to move it out of the way. Then you have to still be really creative with how you wiggle it out. Once it is out, the bolt-up of the new one is much easier.

There were two of us working and I'd allow a full weekend day to do it so you're not rushed.
