HVAC readings for 49 and 51 steady at 90, but gauge reading 1 notch past middle suddenly
I reviewed all posts doing a search, and couldn't find a case like mine. I had steady gauge readings for the 6 years I have had my 2002 TT.
After my last service, the gauge started to move freely past middle towards the next notch. Moving at speed moves the needle towards the right. High revs does the same. Low revs at speed moves it closer to middle. All tests with HVAC showed steady readings, a little hotter than 90 for reading 49 in some cases when I was gunningit.
I have removed the coolant res cap and will leave overnight to see if there are air bubbles cauing this, but am not confident. Does anyone have any insight as to what may be causing this, especially after not having any problems up until my last service? Your help would be greatly appreciated!

FYI, I have the black sensor, and I just tried the trick of scraping the sensor rods in the reservoir with a screwdriver. Will see what happens tomorrow morning.
The coolant temp sensor is on the other side of the engine. It's really a 5-min fix. Check the link below.
