Default You have to remove it in order to fill it.

You can get it out without too much hassle. Remove the sound deadener cover in order to get to the actuator. Don't try to save it and pull it through the opening. Just start with a cut in the sound deadening material and pull it out in pieces. You'll never get it out in one whole piece. You don't need to replace it either. It doesn't do a whole lot to deaden the sound of the actuator anyway. Follow the directions to remove, fill and replace. Take your time and you'll be surprised how quickly your top moves again. Overfill it just a LITTLE, in order to allow for air in the lines. Good Luck! Small hands are helpful.
