After watching that I thought for sure it was filmed in Louisiana.

Default You got that wrong... that's one thing we're good about here in LA >>

that's a Northeast kind of attitude... people here would be running to his attention.

Default unfortunately, what you see in that video is...

a well studied aspect of human nature. Basically, when we see someone in distress on the ground most people will tend to walk on by, but as soon as a single person decides to stop and help the vast majority of subsequent passers by will also choose to stop and help. Granted this video is an extreme case in so far as the accident itself took place in front of witnesses, but in general the steady stream of people passing by and ignoring the problem until the first person stops at which point a group of helpful people quickly form is very much to be expected. I guess that sometimes human nature is uglier than we really would like to admit.

I personally like to feel that it would have been different if this took place in Portland or Eugene, Oregon but the odds are against me on that assumption.

Default Where do you live?

Seeing something like that here doesn't surprise me one bit. The last line of the article says it all:

"There was a time they would have helped that man across the street. Now they mug and assault him," police chief said. "Anything goes."

Default There are hit and runs that occur everyday but I could not believe the insentivity of bystanders!!!!

People just stared and looked and walked by as if they wanted nothing to do with him.

I was disgusted more at them than the person who hit the poor guy.

He layed there for a good 5-10 mins. They acted like he was an exhibit while he twitched on the ground.

I hope it's not a Connecticut thing.
