Finally managed to change a perforated CV-boot last night. Gooey is the only way to describe it...

I like getting a little dirty working on the car. I'm not much for having my hand be spotless when I get done. However, this job had the highest potential for mess of anything I've done on this car. It was kinda funny.

Of course with every repair comes more to find wrong. I'm 99% sure I have a bum head gasket. I've got a little bit of oil condensation coming out of the driver-side gasket. Ordering a new one today and will hopefully have time to take care of it tonight in the garage.

Good times Car loves me again

Default FWIW Mine blows some oil in that area under the intake manifold when I track it.

I clean it up after and it doesn't leak a drop under normal conditions. I suspect PCV or suction jet pump, but have not found anything. Just gets oily in that area but only under track conditions. Boost related or cornering force related? Don't know. I use a lot of boost on the street without leakage. Maybe its the oil sloshing during cornering and blowing through the crankcase ventilation.
I befriended a guy at Daytona who was there in a 2 week old Cayman S. After we did one of our sessions and it sat for a couple of hours, he cranked it up and it blew enough smoke to kill every mosquito in a square mile. Scared him to death. A Porsche tech looked at it and told him, "normal. They do it when you track them due to the G forces. "
Sounds like your oil is in the same area as mine. Maybe it is related to the tracking, and we shouldn't worry. A bit of detergent and a pressure washer cleans it right up.

Default will definitely do a detailed write up for everyone if that is the case. However, the second you

Suggested it was track related the lightbulb went off over my head. I don't recall seeing that condensation before my last track day when I tweaked and checked everything for issues before my last drive. This is the first time I've pulled anything apart and really looked at everything since then so I'm betting you are correct.

Thanks guys!!!
