"TT means it's twin turbo, right?".................
Do any of you still have this said to you at all? One of my uninitiated friends was looking at a car, recently devorced, 27, in the Navy, and with a load of cash since he just got back from Iraq. I took him car shopping and showed him "what's hot" nowadays, with something that he wouldn't have to do too much maintenance to. Obviously I didn't show him any VWs for that reason. :P I pointed over at a 180 knowing what it was, joking because he has a lead foot and would get pulled over just in the dealership. He said no, way all the maintenance required and heat generated by the twin turbo... I stopped him there, took pity on the poor boy's soul and dropped some knowledge on him. Told him that the TT is basically the same as my car; same engine same AWD, with less storage space. I said there are some with a single turbo 4 bangers, but don't ask about them because they're shyte. :P Just messin' on that last part.

but, if you were using the 180 as an example.......

MOST of them are the turbo 4 bangers.....not nearly as many have the 3.2......and I think after like 2004 all of the 180s are FWD only. The 225s and 3.2s have the AWD.

Why would he have an issue in a 180? They're the slowest of the US-market TTs.
Further, they share so many components with the same-generation VWs that your remark there makes little sense...
Even further, even as a joke, calling all the single-turbo 4-cylinders **** pretty much pokes fun at 90% of the people on this forum, many of them with cars that would tear your .:R apart.
But thanks for dropping some knowledge on your boy. I'm sure he really needed it. <_<

Actually.....
The reason for my post was to ask if the average Joe asks TT owners if it means "twin turbo." My car gets called a rabbit, I've been asked if it means 3 passengers in back and two in front, etc. You focused on one minute part of my entire post, and blasted me for it, completely ignoring the original intent. I got nothing for respect for TT owners, TTs and .:Rs are just brothers from another mother. I have plenty of knowledge of the TTs and the R32s, but the original anecdote was to a)ask a question to my VAG brethren, and b)tell a story of what I thought was a humorous afternoon out with my buddy. Instead, you post a meme c.1998 in a half-assed attempt to insult me. C'mon man, simmer down. And if anything... you can do better than that. :P
