Default My last post in the Mk1's...I think....

Some people walked-up while I was taking these pictures and said, "Nice car did you just buy it??" And I said no I just sold it.. Then they said, "Why??? It's beautiful!" That kind of sums it up. Outside of my family She's been the love of my life and I really hate to let her go. But you know what they say,,, it's better to have loved & lost then never to have loved at all. The 225 Mk1 Quattro is an amazing car! None I ever drove & few could ever stack-up to the shear driving performance I enjoyed while romping through the back roads up here in the high Sierra's! Countless times I'd push her well beyond what a "street legal" 2-wheel drive vehicle could ever handle without looping-it! Without flinch she'd keep digging to the next turn or series of S's or launch out of the turn in a full gallop down a straight away. All I can say is thank god I had a Wind Shield because I'd be pickin bugs out of my teeth from smiling too much from the experience!!! Then only when I'd get it home I would realize just how hard I drove it... After climbing out & looking down at my OZ's that were "solid black" with brake dust .015 to .025 of inch thick! My brother had a Jaguar XJS that he use to brag about and how sweet it was is a turn until he looped it 3 times in a hair pin. I put my roadster in the same turn 5 then 10 mph faster then he did with barely a wheel chirp! Yea big brother you're Jag was nice.... ~Hahaha~ little does he know....
Anyway, cheers to all you Mk1 owners out there & May your experiences be as good and exciting as mine were! And I'm going to miss this forum. I was looking forward to meeting some of you and attending some of the events. And Steve sorry for never buying any of you're toys!!! You make some beautiful stuff! See-ya all! Doug

A small slice of my playground,,, what do you think? nice huh???

Little Sweden were the Viper missed the turn in the video I post Thursday night..

Default Great shots, Doug..............

My brother and I pulled many nice trout out of Pinecrest, and it's good to see it is still beautiful up there.
I'm hoping you will keep watching (and posting) you come up with a lot of interesting stuff to share.
In other words, keep up the madness, even if that beautiful roadster is being enjoyed by another.
