Default MAF Question HELP!!

Hello everyone.
I surched for answers and I could not find them. Maybe I don't know how to serch.
Can some one please explain the symptoms of a bad MAF? Thank you for your generous help.

Default It would be much easier if you would tell us what the car is doing...>

Bad MAF's can result in a wide variety of symptoms.

Default The car idles poorly when its cold, sometimes (once or twice)....the

engine dies. It does every morning in the first 10 minutes of running. Any ideas? Thanks again

Default if you think it is the MAF>>>

you can always unplug it and try to run the car without it. If the problem continues, it is more than likely not the MAF....

Cold start issues could be several things actually...

Default Not the MAF.........>

Most likely a bad Temp sensor. Part is less then $20 and replacement time <10 minutes...

Default What are the several things?

I have almost the same thing. My car just doesnt die. I have changed the Temp sensor, spark plugs, coil packs and MAF.

fuel delivery.....change your fuel filter first....pump would be next on the list.....

Default You know I have been thinking that that was the issue.

I have a little over 85k and I think its time for a change. Now to search the forum for the location of the filter on a 2001 fwd. Thanks

Default Found a link. Very easy change. Just need some ramps.

I'll wait until I go to my parents house or my GF parents house (her dad's a real car guy). Unless someone on here has a way to change it with out needing ramps.
