Default Car hit: new door skin or used door?

My passenger door got hit while parked on campus and pretty much needs a new door skin.

My question is, would it be better/cheaper to get a new door skin and have an auto body shop install and paint it or would it be better to buy a used door and try to shift my window motor, glass, ect myself, install the door, and then get it painted by a shop?

Used door in your colour would be the easiest.

Default depends a lot on the color of your car

with some colors, there is a great deal of variance from car to car.

Default mine came to $1200

door shell was $450,unpainted, then they just painted it (brilliant Black) and then took 1 day to transfer all the door parts over.
