Chapter 2 - Dark Arabian Knight down
So I go to get him and the battery seems fine. We try to start it and it turns, but does not start. The lights work. So it is not the battery, or the starter, hopefully it is a coil pack, really anything but the timing belt. The kaput instrument cluster reads in the broken LCD what is surely SERVICE!
Fine, let's pop the hood and see, oh my god, the dirt is overwhelming. I mean Bahrain is dusty and all, but this is too much. Right, let's pop the trunk and get a driver to remove some panels. Dude, why won't your trunk stay open? Fine hold it while I look for the driver. What? What happened to all the tools, like half of them are missing. At least the jack is still there.
Even after removing some plastic it was too difficult to see, from the dirt and lack of light if a belt was torn or something else is majorly wrong. Without VAG-COM we have little to follow. There is no 24 hour car help in Bahrain. This will have to wait for tomorrow.
Luckily, earlier today I checked out one of the local magazines and managed to locate a garage that does VW and Audi work. The guy who runs it is in Kuwait. He will be back in a few hours.
Hopefuly the next post will read:
"Chapter 3 - The rise and resurrection of the Dark Arabian Knight."
