p-car question for Hans

I'm trying to find out how many 911's were painted continental orange in 1978. Do you have any production numbers that tell how many of each color were made? I remember from my vette days all that info was pretty readily available in the "corvette black book," anything like this for the p-cars?

I found an orange 1978 SC not too far from me and I'm trying to figure out how rare this car is.

flat-6.net and theautobahn.com.....neither of which seem to be working anymore.....:-(

Lots of folks have painted their cars that color too....you need to dissect the VIN and see if it is a factory job...unless that does not matter....

Porsche paint jobs have never been a big resale value unless the car itself is significant.

78 is an ok year...first year of the 3.0 liter motor (US cars) which means there were major improvements over the 2.7...aluminum block instead of magnesium....thermal reactors are gone (big problem on the 2.7).....still CIS which is ok, expensive to fix, but pretty reliable too....if you are seriously considering it, shoot me an email and i will help where i can...
