Overheated...AGAIN!
I was on my way to work and I noticed the temperature started to rise...rapidly! I monitored the 49 block on the HVAC and saw it climbing and climbing. It got to around 112 so I pulled off to the side of the highway and checked my expansion tank. Empty! I let it cool down for a bit and drove to the nearest exit (less than a mile) while monitoring the 49 block still. It kept rapidly moving up all the way to 121 until I got to the gas station. I filled the expansion tank up with water and looked for leaks anywhere and sure enough, the lower radiator hose has a hole in it.
So anyways, I tried to order a new one at the dealer and they said it was completely out of stock. He showed none to be available in the US warehouse. Where can I get one PRONTO!?
Also, with my engine running that hot for a good minute or two, did I do any damage ya think!?
I was doing a search for a lower radiator hose online and I came across genuinevwaudiparts.com which had it for $53.87 plus $7.50 shipping. Just wondering if there were any other places cheaper.
I have shopped with autohausaz.com before and I definitely like them even though I'm stupid and ordered the wrong fan switch one time. I'll try worldimpex next though.
I ordered a couple accessory parts from the guy for a refresh but I've seen big parts being requested and sold.
Good luck with your search...hope this helps!
