Car won't start...thankfully I'm not joining the flatbed truck (yet) ...>>>
since it happened at home and I have a beater.
03 model, 44k miles, OEM Battery still
Now this is 2-3 days after I drove it around.
When I try to start the car it's giving a series of clicking sound almost like an AK47 firing but not that loud (I'm sure you guys have some technical word for it). All the other stuff is firing up, radio works, cabin light works...didn't try headlights.
You guys think it's the battery even though other stuff is working?
Should I buy a voltmeter and test it out or just jump start and change the battery?

It's the battery.........
Have heard that sound many times in my life and it's always the battery. Strong enough to run the accessories (not for long) but not enough juice to start the car. When the clicking stops the battery is completely dead.

Ok found Jeff's write up..Is this an exact fit so I don't need anything else to secure the battery?

Mine wouldn't start one morning, and it would actually crank pretty well, but when I checked....
my battery voltage, it was OK until I started to crank, then it dropped to about 10 volts, not enough, apparently to turn it over. Try jump starting it.
