I wouldn't think 12volt would tear off any lugs.

18v minimum, 12v is a glorified drill/screwdriver

2nd, my Milwaukee 18v does a decent job, less than 18v wouldn't do much

I prefer to not tear them off, I like to reuse my lugs!

Default I've been very happy with my Dewalt 18V for changing tires, but it's the 059 model if I remember

correctly...

Default I use my 18V DeWalt at the track to swap wheels and it works great - in fact

I use it at home in a pinch when I don't feel like listening to the air compressor fill up.

Default I've never tried the Dewalt cordless impact wrench. I've been using Snap-on's cordless

for about 5 years or so. It's the original 12V version. Still works excellent. It takes off lugs that are on a 93 FT/LBS no problem. But, I think I'm going to trade up to the 18V with a spare battery. BUT.... Snap-on stuff is horribly expensive, although excellent. I have several Dewalt cordless tools in the garage and they all work excellent. They're pretty proud of their batterys, but that's the case with all good cordless tools.

If it were me, I probably wouldn't get anything in 12V unless it was a Snap-on. Otherwise, I'd be shooting for 18V for sure. I think if you save up and spend a few more bucks upfront, you'll be much happier with the results.

Ultimate goodness....
