Strut Remove/Install Question
STick the square in the slot, rotate 45 degrees and the carrier will open. Lube generously.
BTW I'm assuming you left all the hardware on the top. YOu need to pound the carrier down to remove, NOT move the strut up. The strut should essentially Hang from the top cup. Shimming this up a little will give you a little more range to work with..
I just did this job and forgot about using the strut spreader (in truth, I did not know where it went). It made putting in the new struts SO much easier.
A search of the forum will help you out.<ul><li><a href="https://forums.audiworld.com/tt/msgs/1787806.phtml">Schwing's advice</a></li></ul>
Just the new Konis?
Last night, while taking out the control arms in my driveway, I looked at the cups and the struts seems to be fully seated.
I am 100% positive the locking nut was fully seated (would not turn anymore) and I am 100% positve the springs were put into their proper spots on the struts.
So, this normal for the FSDs?
Thanks!
